2018-01-27 ~ 2018-03-25 Patterns of Heaven & Earth-Nick Dong’s Solo Exhibition
With a playful heart and a pair of curious eyes, artist Nick Dong employs technology as a medium to transform the mysterious phenomena of the universe, exploring the relationship between all things — between self and nature, matter and space. His practice is not merely a formal experiment, but a spiritual dialogue, inviting viewers to contemplate the dialectics of illusion and reality, cause and effect.
Inspired by natural phenomena and the aesthetics of Eastern philosophy, “Patterns of Heaven & Earth”reflects the artist’s profound concern for the cosmos and for life itself. Drawing from the order and chaos of nature, Dong translates abstract energies into perceptible visual forms. In this exhibition, he also ventures into the realm of sound and music, collaborating with musicians to create a resonance between image and tone — waves of sight and sound swirling through space, enveloping the audience in an immersive sensory experience.
These works are at once projections of the artist’s inner self and mirrors through which viewers encounter their own being. The exhibition invites audiences to perceive the shifting boundaries between “heaven” and “earth,” “square” and “circle,” “self” and “other.” As the works whisper and pulse in suspended rhythm, visitors are drawn into a meditative state — a moment of inner stillness and quiet strength.
This is a journey of art and spirit, and a gentle call to return to one’s original heart.
